The Lebanese National Energy (LNE), under General Michel Aoun's auspices, is a nonprofit organization, recognized by the Lebanese authorities, based in Beirut, Lebanon. Its mission is to boost the Lebanese economy by linking economic, business, and academic leaders in order to enhance growth and prosperity, create job opportunities, and stop brain drain. This NGO is a platform of communication between the public and the private sectors, looking to make a difference in the national economic scene.

Founder of InfoPro, a publishing, business consultancy and market research firm, and publisher of Lebanon Opportunities, and several other business periodicals and websites. InfoPro conducts market and economic research. He is the author of several books, including ‘The Lebanese Dream’. He has published hundreds of articles on the economies of Lebanon and the Arab World, and is a frequent guest at business and economic talk-shows and conferences. He is the chairman of Al-Majmoua, one of largest microcredit organizations in Lebanon and a member of the board of directors of several NGOs and organizations including the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL) and the Tripoli Special Economic Zone (TSEZ).
Farhat Farhat, President & CEO of Economic Integration Forum Inc., has around 24 years of experience in leading, and providing advice on, economic growth and governance related projects in the Middle East, Balkans, Caucasus, post-Soviet countries, and Central and South Asia, funded by the United States Agency for International Development, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the United Nations. Mr. Farhat’s areas of specialization include economic development and governance, policy reforms, negotiations of international agreements, dispute settlement, trade facilitation, competitiveness, deregulation, and anti-corruption.
Mr. Farhat supported Afghanistan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Ukraine in implementing broad-based economic policy and institutional reforms and in enabling their WTO membership. In addition, he assisted Saudi Arabia in developing a strategy for concluding its WTO membership and advanced trade, investment and economic governance related reforms in Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, Kosova, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Moreover, he supported the negotiations and the implementation of over dozen bilateral and regional trade, investment, transport, and transit agreements including the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the South Asian Free Trade Agreement, the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement, and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation - Cross-Border Transport Agreement.
While at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Mr. Farhat assessed the commercial viability of dozen large state enterprises in Russia for military conversion and facilitated forming joint ventures with multi-national companies. In Kazakhstan, he chaired for three years two subcommittees (on subsurface licensing and pipeline transport) under the Embassy-Petroleum Industry Working Group comprising over 20 embassies and 30 multinational oil and gas companies. He also provided support for the development of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and promotion of investment in Jordan leading to the doubling of investments and creation of a significant number of new job opportunities.
Mr. Farhat’s leadership skills and outstanding achievements have earned him accolades from high level government officials and world leaders, including the King of Jordan, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, and the Parliament of Ukraine.
Charbel Cordahi is an economist and corporate finance expert, with 20 years of professional and transnational experience spanning Lebanon, Europe, and the GCC.
Cordahi began his career overseeing Financial Planning and Market Research at Bemo Bank in Lebanon. In 2001, he took on a new role as a Researcher, Economist at GATE CNRS in France. In 2006, he relocated to the UAE and worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at Bin Sagar Group. In January 2008, he joined Al Khaliji bank in Qatar as Bank Economist, Senior Principal of Investor Relations, and Company and Board Secretary of Al Khaliji France S.A. In 2012, Cordahi joined Touch as its Chief Financial Officer and Board Member.
Cordahi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Saint Joseph University, an MBA from ESA Business School and ESCP Europe, and a Master’s in International Finance and PhD in Economics from Lyon 2 University in France, in addition to other professional qualifications.
Cordahi has been teaching economics and finance since 1997. He also published many articles and gives regular speeches and radio and TV interviews on macroeconomic and financial topics.
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Sakr Real Estate Group which he joined in 2015, bringing with him his professionalism, acute business sense and shrewd knowledge in sales and marketing.
Fady Jreissati gained his repute in the business and economic field after 22 years spent in Events Management, during which he planned, coordinated and executed over 200 International trade exhibitions and conferences.
Born on July 17, 1950 in Lebanon, son of Toufic SALAMÉ and Renée ROMANOS, Riad Salamé attended the Jesuits’ College of Notre -Dame de Jamhour and then graduated with a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
Riad Salamé is the Governor of Banque du Liban, Lebanon's Central Bank, since August 1, 1993. He was reappointed for four consecutive terms in 1999, 2005, 2011 and 2017.
Governor Salamé manages all aspects of the Central Bank and is assisted in his functions by four vice-governors and the Central Council.
In this capacity, he chairs the following bodies: the BDL Central Council, the Higher Banking Commission, the AML/CFT Special Investigation Commission and the Capital Markets Authority.
Mr. Salamé is member of the Board of Governors at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).
In 2012, Governor Salamé chaired the IMF and World Bank Boards of Governors held in Tokyo.
Starting July 1, 2013, Mr. Salame co-chaired the FSB Regional Consultative Group for the Middle East and North Africa for a term of two years. He was also the chairman of the AMF Board of Governors for 2013.
Between 1973 and 1985, he acquired an extensive experience at Merrill Lynch (Beirut and Paris) that led to his designation from 1985 through 1993 as Vice-President and Financial Advisor, a position that he occupied till his appointment as BDL Governor.
The main objective of Mr. Salamé’s monetary policy has always been to safeguard the Lebanese currency, in order to ensure the basis for sustained economic and social growth.
Governor Salamé received numerous awards including the Global Finance Magazine Award as One of the Best Central Bank Governors of the world for the second consecutive year in 2017; the Global Finance Magazine Award as One of the Best Central Bank Governors of the world in 2016; the Gold-plated shield Award to mark the BDL’s 50th anniversary as well as his 20 years with the Bank in April 2014 from the Union of Arab Banks; the Shield Award of the Rotary annual congress in Lebanon and “Paul Harris” medal in honor of his achievements in April 2014; the Euromoney Award for Emerging Markets as the Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East for 2013; the Banker Magazine Award as the Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East for the year 2012;
Governor Salamé was also awarded the Global Finance magazine Award as One of the World’s Top 6 Central Bankers in 2011; the Officer of the Legion of Honor bestowed on him by French President Nicolas Sarkozy in December 2009; the Banker Magazine Award as the Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East for the year 2009; the 2006 Euromoney Award as the Best Central Bank Governor in the world; the 2005 Euromoney Award for Emerging Markets as the Best Central Bank Governor in the Middle East; the 2003 Euromoney Award's Man of the Year as the Best Central Bank Governor; the 1997 Knight of the Legion of Honor bestowed on him by French President Jacques Chirac; and the 1996 Euromoney Award as the Best Central Bank Governor in the Arab World.
Early Life and Education
Sfeir was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. After attending l’Institut des Frères des Écoles Chrétiennes in Beirut, from 1950 to 1964, he moved to Montreal, Canada, where he graduated in 1969 from the University of Montreal with a BSS degree in Economics. In 1971 he received his MBA Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit, USA. As instructor in Economics, Finance and Marketing, from 1972 over a span of 10 years, Sfeir lectured at the Lebanese University, Beirut University College (presently LAU), Haigazian College and l’Université Saint-Joseph, Centre d’Études Bancaires. This period also witnessed a number of his publications: Economic Development of Lebanon (1968), Lebanon, Crossroad of the Middle East (1975), Economic Review of the Arab World (1976), Working Capital Financing (1978).
He embarked on his journey of intentions and elbowed his way through four decades of a banking career as he joined Bank of Nova Scotia, Beirut, in 1971. From 1980 - 1983 he occupied the position of Deputy General Manager with Banque de la Meditérranée. He founded Wedge Bank (M.E.) in 1983 and was appointed General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors. From 1985 till 1991 Sfeir held the positions of General Manager & Chief Executive Officer, Wedge Bank (Switzerland) S.A., Geneva; in 1992 was appointed Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Wedge Bank (M.E.). In 1993 he organized and implemented Management Buy-in of Bank of Beirut leading it to develop into one of the top major five banks in Lebanon, through strategic alliances, bank acquisitions, and expansion into 4 continents.
Sfeir has been a Member of the Board of the Association of Banks in Lebanon since 2006. From 2009 to 2015 he was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Lebanese American University (LAU), and from 2010 till 2014, Vice-Chairman of AMIDEAST (American Friends of the Middle East).
In 2014, he was nominated Vice-Chairman, World Patriarchal Maronite Foundation (WPF) founded by His Eminence Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros El Rai, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East. In 2015 he was elected member to the Board of Trustees, the University of the Holy Spirit, Kaslik (USEK).
Founder of Cedrus Invest Bank and Cedrus Bank SAL., Mr.Khoury is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
He has an extensive and varied banking experience with focus on wealth management, investment, and commercial banking services.
Mr. Khoury previously held senior management positions in private banking with Audi Group, in Lebanon, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.
He holds a BA in Economics and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the American University of Beirut (AUB).

While residing in the US in the in the 1980s’, he was a founding director of the American Lebanese League, an organization focusing on furthering Lebanon‘s cause within the Diaspora in the USA.
Mr. Dib is currently a member of the national committee of Christian/Moslem dialog in Lebanon; in this capacity, he attended several conferences in Lausanne and Beirut and made several contributions on the subject. He is also a member of the Arab Christian/Muslim dialog and participated during the years 2001, 2003 2005 and 2010 in conferences on Arab Christian/Muslim relations in Cairo and Beirut.
Mr. Dib is a frequent contributor to public debate in Lebanon and has published several articles in the major newspapers in Lebanon on political and economic issues.
In 2011, He wrote a book in Arabic, Loubnan Al Moustaker, published by Dar AnNahar, the prime editing house in Lebanon; the book presents a comprehensive vision on making Lebanon stable and functional.
Before founding his own firm, Mr. Dib was a Consultant for 6 years at Mckinsey & Company Inc., an international management-consulting firm in London, Paris and Cleveland.
Before joining Mckinsey, Mr. Dib was Engineering Consultant for 3 years with the largest Engineering Consulting firm in the Middle East, Dar Al-Handassah (Shaïr and Partners), and worked between Beirut and Cairo offices.

Dr. Gemayel is presently Co-Owner & Honorary Chairman at “Gemayel Freres S.A.L.” A family owned corrugated cardboard & packaging company, established in 1929. The company is presently ISO 9001:2015 certified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, and was ISO 9002 since March 1998.
He is Co-Owner & Chairman General Manager of two sister companies “ Société Libanaise de Carton” (SOLICAR) S.A.L. which is Lebanon’s major Paper Recycling Mill; and “ Blue Pack SAL” specialized in brand recognition products, such as labels.
He is Co-Owner & Chairman of GEMDOUBS sas a paper mill company in Novillars (near Besançon) - France

Mr. Saad AZHARI also assumes several functions on the Board of Directors of BLOM BANK Group’s entities. He is, in addition, the Vice President of the Association of Banks in Lebanon since 2001. He joined BLOM BANK SWITZERLAND S.A. in 1991, was appointed its General Manager in 1997 and its Chairman in 2001. He worked from 1986 to 1991 at PBZ (Privatbank), an affiliate of UBS Group, in Zurich- Switzerland where he was promoted to run, from Zurich, the Bank’s operations in the Middle East and in its Hong Kong office.

Mr Raphael began his Banking career in 1995 at Credit Agricole Indosuez, where he held several positions in both Paris and London, in the International Project Finance Department and in Capital Markets covering the emerging markets. He joined the General Management of the Bank in 2004 and was elected member of the Board of Directors and appointed Deputy General Manager in March 2006.
